Indonesia	Local Governance Support Project	Ministry of Home Affairs, several other ministries and USAID	Providing long- and short-term technical assistance in designing, constructing, deploying, and maintaining a local government website to support: (1) the Web-based EMME system for project M&E, (2) the comparative benchmarking system for tracking local government performance and compare it against similar localities, and (3) project information dissemination. Myanmar	Watershed Management Training	Ministry of Forestry and UNDP/FAO	Conducted a 10-week, in-country training in watershed management principles, resource inventory, planning and management, implementation techniques, social-economic studies, methods of people's participation, and extension.
Myanmar	Landuse Planning and Institutional Strengthening	Ministry of Forestry and UNDP/FAO	Developed an action plan for watershed planning in three critical watersheds and strengthened the capabilities of the Ministry by designing a GIS/Remote Sensing Center.
Nepal	Irrigation Management Project	Department of Irrigation and USAID	Established, trained, and strengthened Irrigation Management Division within Department, focusing on formation of water user associations, improved O&M, training, cost recovery, and research. Developed an information system (Management Transfer M&E) to help the Department to monitor and evaluate the turnover of government-managed irrigation systems to farmer management.
Nepal	Sustainable Income and Rural Enterprise – Private Electrification	Ministry of Water Resources and USAID	Provided recommendations and strategies to promote private sector investment in hydropower development. Assisted in the design of USAID/Nepal's Private Electrification Project.
Nepal	Irrigation Management Transfer Project	Department of Irrigation and USAID	Privatized 67,000 ha of government operated irrigation systems, strengthening local users groups to take over all management authority and responsibilities, including O&M, cost recovery, and water management.
Pakistan	Project Impact Monitoring and Evaluation (PIME) Studies Chasma Right Bank Canal Project	Water and Power Development Authority and ADB	Assisted the WAPDA, PCMU NWFP and Punjab and PIME staff in establishing criteria for the selection parameters for the PIME Studies Program based on secondary data and interviews with farmers in Stages I, II and III. Designed the PIME program based on the selected parameters developed by the various staff members to monitor the development activities in Stages I, II and III.
Pakistan	Pre-feasibility Study for National Surface Drainage Systems	Water and Power Development Authority and World Bank	The concept of National Surface Drainage System (NSDS) envisages an interconnected system of federally owned and operated outfall drains for the entire Indus Basin Irrigation System. Collected relevant data and study soil conditions in the area in relation with drainage requirements and groundwater conditions. Analyzed cropping patterns and drainage requirements in the area in relation with the soil conditions.

Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia	Study Tour to Sevier River Basin in Utah	USAID	Conducted a 14-day training program in Utah for 12 Hydromet officials from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. The goal of the program was to show the participants the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the State of Utah, and non-profit private organization activities in water resources data acquisition, management, communication, and sharing with other agencies in Utah and in the Sevier River Basin.

Egypt	Water Policy Bridging Project	Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and USAID	Study No.3 - Water Allocation Options. Provided short-term technical assistance jointly with an international Water Policy Specialist, as assisted by local consultants with inputs from the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, and the Water Policy Advisory Unit to study and suggest water allocation and data management options to meet the extra water requirements of the new agricultural areas by 2017. Recommended the required steps to achieve the options.
Egypt	Improved Water Resources Component, Red Sea Costal, Egyptian Environmental Policy Program	Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and USAID	Reviewed and evaluated the information system development activities under the project. Assisted with the implementation of information systems at four Integrated Water Resources Management Districts (South Zifta, Ibrahimia, Luxor, and West Esna). Suggested an action plan to implement the recommended information systems at the districts. Made recommendations for expanding the district information systems from the four Integrated Water Resources Districts to other districts.
Egypt	Livelihood and Income from the Environment (LIFE) Integrated Water Resources Management Project	Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and USAID	Advised and assisted the LIFE-IWMP TA Team, USAID, IWMU and MWRI to design and implement nine (9) effective database management and digital mapping systems for each of the five General Directorates (New Zifta and West Sharkiya in the Middle Delta, and East and West Qena, and Aswan in Upper Egypt) and 27 corresponding integrated water management districts. Romania	WUA Development Project	Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry and USAID	Reviewed legal and institutional issues related to the formation of WUAs. Developed a plan for making necessary improvements to the existing regulatory framework, such as identifying areas requiring revision and improvement. Reviewed and tested a questionnaire for collecting baseline data from the irrigation WUAs. Identified project performance indicators and targets. Developed a WUA information system for tracking and evaluating water user association development, a plan for monitoring and evaluating project performance, and a Website to share WUA data/information via the Internet. Assessed the feasibility and cost of adding a GIS component to the WUA Information System. Mapped Tecuci and Gorjdibodu WUAs with the project Garmin GPS unit. Built WUA service area maps based on GPS waypoints, Landsat TM images for the areas, and AutoCAD drawings of the irrigation systems. Published dynamic WUA maps under the project website. Approximately 600,000 hectares of irrigated land were managed by WUAs by the end of the project..
