Training Monitoring & Evaluation System

IT Tools and Solutions for Better Training Management

Under the USAID-funded Rural Roads Maintenance Systems Project, CADI developed a computerized system for monitoring and evaluating the training activities of the Department of Home Affairs, Directorate General of Regional Development (BANGDA). The system, TMES, consists of a relational database, a geographic information system (GIS), and a graphical user interface (GUI). The database allows information on training courses, course participants, and course implementation to be entered, edited, queried, and reported. The GIs provides the ability to create maps at the district level, displaying the location and number of courses given and participants taught. The GUI is a customized user interface program that automates all the operations of TMES so the system may be used by the BANGDA staff at any level of expertise. TMES was documented with a complete user's manual and data dictionary. The system was developed for the RRMS project on the island of Sulawesi but can be used to monitor the training activities undertaken by other projects anywhere in Indonesia.
