CADI with its partners established a fully operational water resources data center with the latest software and hardware. At the heart of the national Water Resources Data Center (WRDC) system is embedded new software - ESRI's ArcSDE which permits spatial data to be stored with tabular data in Microsoft's SQL Server. ArcIMS and Borland Delphi were used to design, construct, and deploy Web-based applications to enable users to get "live" answers to their queries on-line, rather than simply presenting static maps and tables from the database. The Website provides a gateway to the water resources data warehouse and permits dynamic generation of output from the integrated tabular and spatial data holdings of the system. A total of seven Web-based applications were developed: (1) Irrigation System Inventory (covers all of Indonesia), (2) Flood Monitoring (covers all Indonesia), (3) Water Resources Inventory (covers all rivers, reservoirs, lakes, dams, and wetland areas in Indonesia), (4) Hydrological Infrastructure Inventory (covers eight provinces), (5) Project Monitoring, (6) Government Publication (covers water resource Decrees, Regulations, and Policies), and (7) FTP (data download). The goals of the data warehouse are to (1) store and safe keep water resources data, (2) implement data quality assurance and quality control measures, (3) improve data management process, (4) use data to evaluate water resource management options and strategies, and (5) provide sustainable and scalable IT tools and solutions for the Ministry.
