Provided long- and short-term technical assistance to Nepal's Department of Irrigation (DOI) to transfer the ownership of three selected irrigation systems and to transfer the management of all 11 systems from the government to farmer Water User's Associations (WUAs).
DOI with the assistance of CADI transferred the operation and maintenance and/or ownership of three public irrigation schemes (15,000 ha) to the WUAs and prepared eight more schemes (53,000 ha) for future management transfer.
